Methodology

EORbenchmark is Europe-first and evidence-led. We score providers across seven pillars, label confidence per pillar, and surface sources with verification dates. Unknowns reduce confidence until verified.

Pillars & weights

Scoring pillars

Each pillar is scored 0-100 and weighted. The total score is a weighted average with a calibration uplift applied equally across providers to keep scores within human-expected ranges. This does not change ranking.

Evidence & verification

What counts as evidence

Official sources are primary. We store source URLs and last verified dates.

Third-party sources are allowed but labeled lower confidence.

If a claim is missing evidence, it is marked unknown and scores conservatively.

Confidence levels

How confidence is set

Confidence reflects the pillar score: HIGH (>= 80), MEDIUM (>= 60), LOW (< 60).

Ranking & stars

How we rank providers

Rankings are based on overall score. Ties break by Compliance, then Security, then Platform.

Stars are derived from overall score on a 1-5 scale with half-star increments.

EU-first weighting means Europe compliance depth can influence the outcome more than global coverage alone.

Updates & transparency

Change log

We publish update history and keep evidence timestamps on provider pages. If a provider updates a claim, we re-verify and update the score.

Independence

Editorial guardrails

Sponsored placements are labeled and never alter scores. Evidence and methodology remain public and unchanged by paid relationships.
